Rock Hall Snub KISS but Will Induct Iggy
Gene Simmons was once asked about the lack of respect KISS had receive from Rolling Stone magazine and he responded with something along the lines of Rolling Stone still hasn’t gotten ‘it’ to this day. But that’s ok. Being accepted by aging hippies isn’t at the top of his priority list. That’s a good thing because Rolling Stone just did it again.
KISS were finally nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, after many years of being ignored by the organization. Being nominated is one thing, but being inducted is another and Rolling Stone.com announced the class of 2010 this morning and KISS isn’t on the list.
The ones who are on the list are The Stooges, Genesis, ABBA, the Hollies and Jimmy Cliff. They will be inducted in March. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, LL Cool J, Donna Summer, Laura Nyro and Darlene Love join KISS on list of artists who were nominated this go round but didn’t make the cut.
